The head of the National Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, the representative of the Secretary-General in Iraq, Jan Kubic, rejected all attempts to postpone the elections.
A statement from his office received the agency of all Iraq [where] a copy of him that Hakim received in his office Kubic and renewed during the meeting, "rejected all attempts to postpone the elections and stressed the conduct of the time in a constitutional date because it represents a guarantee for the democratic system in the country.
He called Hakim, according to the statement, to "the need to create all the requirements for the success of the democratic practice and broad participation in it."
The two sides discussed "the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq, where it was commended for its general course and work to reflect positively on the lives of citizens."
"He welcomed the meetings and consultations with various parties in the Kurdistan region," calling for "strengthening the launch of a comprehensive dialogue based on the Constitution and the law, which leads to the solution of all outstanding problems."
He praised "the efforts of the United Nations in the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed by the terrorist advocate against the Iraqis."
