The Sunday Times reveal Obama's goal of concluding a nuclear deal with Iran

The British Sunday Times published an article by Niall Ferguson comparing Barack Obama and Donald Trump in dealing with Iran and its nuclear program.
Mr Niall says those who write about Trump's policy and describe it as a foe to reckon with the recklessness of his predecessor Obama's policy.
The writer refers to the nuclear deal signed by Obama with Iran, saying that it was not intended to delay the program of Tehran's nuclear 10 years, but also the goal of developing the strategy of the United States and its allies to become by 2025 in a stronger position to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb.
Obama's goal was to balance the forces in the region, but what happened was that Tehran had received 150 billion dollars of frozen assets and opened wide trade after the lifting of sanctions. The agreement did not include a provision for the return of sanctions if Iran used the funds to support the party God and Hamas and Bashar Assad in Syria and the Houthis in Yemen, according to the writer.
Obama expected that time would lead to a balance of power. But what happened was the escalation of armed conflict. The plan seemed to be very clever, but reality proved to be reckless.
According to the journalist, Trump's policy completely reversed Obama's policy. He reassured his allies not only in Saudi Arabia and Israel but also in other Arab countries that he stood against Iranian expansion. This was done with the exception of the problem of Qatar. In the second year, he announced the return of the sanctions on Iran and that it would include the European companies. He also exerted pressure on all the countries in which Iran intervened.
He adds that Iran can not afford the sanctions and the funding of its troops abroad. If you think that Russia will help them, remember the handshake of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin last week.
