Washington announces the holding of the second summit between Trump and Kim two months later
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Friday that the second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will take place within 60 days.
"There will be another meeting within 60 days, that's the plan," Pompeo said in the Laura Ingram show, distributed by the State Department's press service.
Last Friday, the White House announced that US President Donald Trump would meet North Korea's leader soon.
Trump met for an hour and a half with North Korean envoy Kim Yong-chul to discuss the second summit and nuclear disarmament.
North Korean President Kim Jong-un said he would do his utmost to make his second meeting with US President Donald Trump effective.
At their first summit, Trump and Kim agreed to work towards denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
The United States is pressing North Korea to disarm its nuclear weapons before any easing of its economic sanctions
