The Ministry of Communications held several meetings with the Kuwaiti Communications Authority on Monday in order to reach an agreement and sign a contract allowing the transfer of Internet capacity to the country.
"The ministry is looking forward to implementing large sovereign projects that exploit the strategic geographical location of Iraq, which is not properly exploited," a ministry statement said.
"The ministry has modern communications networks and sophisticated infrastructure and good and border crossings with all neighboring countries to overcome the capacity, and can be used in the project, the Kuwaiti side stressed the importance of signing the contract to pass the capacity across the Iraqi territory as transit, because of its important location linking the region with European countries. "
