Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed, today, Tuesday, to suspend official work next Thursday.
A statement from his office received by Mawazine News stated that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed that October 3rd be an official holiday on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Iraq." The statement continued, "Al-Sudani directed that any celebrations on this occasion be stopped, in solidarity with our brothers in Lebanon and Palestine who are being subjected to attacks and dire circumstances."
