The meeting elite affirmed that the three authorities must fulfill their duties in preserving the constitution, warning against overlapping powers or extending some of them at the expense of others.
The elite said in a statement received by Mawazine News, a copy of it, that "in light of the current political crisis, a group of parliamentary political figures with professional, administrative and social ability met to study the situation in light of the challenges witnessed by Iraq."
She added, "This initiative will reach solutions that are acceptable to all parties in order to accelerate towards forming a government that meets the aspirations of the people, while affirming giving an opportunity to the Prime Minister-designate to choose members of a government in which he is responsible for choosing this, provided that he is among the priorities of his program to establish the prestige of the state and extend authority Law and create the atmosphere for early, free and fair elections. "
The meeting elite pointed out that "the three authorities must carry out their duties in safeguarding the constitution, warning against overlapping powers or extending some of them at the expense of others, as well as the necessity of members of Parliament to play their constitutional role."
She added, "The next stage requires an openness to the national forces and to the spectrum of society, while giving the demands of the people of the popular movement a great attention away from any regional or international intervention in order to preserve the success of the democratic process and save Iraq in its historic turning point."
