Economist Saleh Al-Hamachi considered, today, Sunday, the parliamentary statements about the devaluation of the dollar as "electoral propaganda."

"The House of Representatives is unable to change the exchange rate of the dollar, as this is a government decision, but it can vote on abolishing this paragraph of the Federal Budget Law," Al-Hamashi said during his speech to the Al-Sumaria newsletter.

He stressed, "The government has not taken any measures to mitigate the consequences of raising the exchange rate," noting that "taking such a decision must coincide with government measures that relieve pressure on citizens, such as subsidizing basic commodities and reducing taxes on some goods and others."

Al-Hamashi expected that "the exchange rate during the 2022 budget will reach 170 thousand dinars for every 100 dollars."
