The advisor to the Anbar Governor for Energy Affairs Aziz Khalaf Al-Tarmouz revealed, on Monday, the percentages of achievement in exploration operations on oil and gas fields in the western regions.
Al-Tarmouz said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / that “the rate of achievement in exploration operations on oil and gas fields by the seismic teams of the Ministry of Oil reached 14,56% in the southern regions of Rawa district, west of Anbar, as part of a plan prepared by the Ministry of Oil in coordination with the Anbar local government and the forces. The security forces conducted large-scale surveys, the first of their kind, to include most cities in Anbar.

Al-Tarmouz explained, "Recent studies conducted on the western regions have classified some of them as promising areas because they contain hydrocarbon reservoirs and that their exploration contributes effectively to supporting the national economy and maximizing hydrocarbon reserves."
