The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee confirmed, on Monday, that it is seeking to keep the Information Crimes Law from being silenced.
A member of the committee, MP Abbas Sarout, said, "The work to approve the law of information crimes came as a result of extortion operations," indicating that "several complaints reached the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee regarding electronic extortion operations."
He added, "The committee is working hard to keep the information crimes law from being silenced," noting that "many remarks about the law made by human rights committees and organizations are taken into consideration." Ended 29 / A 87
