    The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nizar Al-Khairallah, summoned the Chargé d'Affairs to the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad, on Monday, at the Ministry's building, and handed him a protest note.


    The Iraqi government expressed, according to the memorandum, its "deep resentment and condemnation of the Turkish Defense Minister Khulousi's presence inside the Iraqi territories without coordination or prior approval by the competent authorities, and his meeting with Turkish forces present in the territories illegally, as well as its condemnation of the statements of the Turkish Minister of Interior regarding intention [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Establishing a permanent military base in the North [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]".







    Al-Wakeel affirmed, "The Iraqi government categorically rejects the continuing violations of sovereignty [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] And the sanctity of Iraqi lands and airspace by the Turkish military forces, and that continuing with such an approach is not consistent with friendly relations, good neighborliness, and relevant international laws and norms, stressing the need to remind the neighbor [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Relying on unilateral military solutions cannot be the effective way to solve common security challenges. "
