A member of the parliamentary finance committee on Monday criticized the Kadhimi government's delay in sending the 2022 budget bill.

Naji Saidi, a member of the Finance Committee, told Shafaq News on Monday that the 2022 budget has not yet been sent by the government to the House of Representatives, indicating that the preparation of the budget, work on it and the implementation of the budget may be after the next elections.

He pointed out that now time does not allow the absolute to prepare the budget and if the approval of the budget is delayed, some negative results will be at the country level and the delay of some dues of contractors and investors.

Next year's budget is likely to be prepared from the work of the next government and parliament, as it is difficult to pass the law in such a short period before parliamentary elections.

If elections are delayed, the current government and the House of Representatives could prepare and pass the budget law, he said.
