The Engineering Services Effort Team announced that all projects that have exceeded 80 percent completion rates will be completed before the end of this year, revealing the addition of three governorates to the team's plans.
The team's head, Engineer Abdul Razzaq Al-Maliki, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": Since its inception, the team has included Baghdad and eight governorates: Babylon, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, Diwaniyah, Salah al-Din, Nineveh and Diyala, in its diligent work plans, adding that there are three new governorates that the team has recently entered, namely Najaf, Basra and Wasit, so that there are 12 governorates in which the team is implementing projects in various sectors, including sewers, paving, sidewalks, water and electricity lines.
He explained that the team held a meeting with all representatives of the governorates and local teams, during which it decided to complete all projects that have exceeded 80 percent completion rates before the start of
next year.
Al-Maliki explained that after the Council of Ministers approved its budget for next year, which includes 500 projects, the team prepared another plan and submitted it to the Council of Ministers for approval, which includes selecting some projects on both sides of Baghdad, in addition to two regions from each governorate, which were scheduled to be completed within the 2025 budget. However, the team decided to complete them now after the Council of Ministers approved them to be important projects, regarding which the team received several appeals, as well as in coordination with the municipal departments currently responsible for these areas, since releasing the 2025 funds may take a long time, which prompted the team to start them before the rainy season, especially since most of them are agricultural areas deprived of services and infrastructure.
In the same context, he stressed that his team obligated all supervisory departments to activate their work during the current period to open the largest number of projects, while presenting the completion of projects that have not achieved any advanced rates, especially sanitation and cladding, by carrying out the highest levels of coordination with the technical and engineering staff working on the projects.
