Today, Sunday, Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar announced changes in the Basra-Aqaba pipeline project, while noting that the Ministry of Oil is looking with high accuracy if the project meets the requirements and benefit of the ministry.
Abdul-Jabbar said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Basra - Aqaba line project has not been signed, the memorandum of understanding has not been signed, and it has not been referred," noting, "The major strategic project is taking place according to specific contexts by submitting it several times to the Council of Ministers." To complete the procedures, the financing structure, the implementation structure and financial allocations, to include it in the Ministry of Planning, and to re-complete the economic feasibility that was prepared in the year 2020.”He added, "There are changes in the project and therefore there is a new economic feasibility," noting that "a new consultant has been assigned to Burley Company, which is one of the international companies to control costs."
