Seljuk said in a statement on Thursday: that good measures have been taken in this field inside the country, as the Committee for Combating Dust Storms in the Environment Organization identified the internal hotspots, and in various meetings a 10-year plan was formulated to control these spots, as they were handed over. For relevant authorities such as the Ministries of Energy, Jihad, Agriculture, Oil, Industry and Interior to start field operations.
Regarding external programs to deal with dust and dust storms, Seljuk added: 270 million hectares of external foci of dust storms have been identified in neighboring countries that affect our country, to deal with them, as we started with diplomatic activity and the President of the Republic emphasized a lot to conduct negotiations with neighboring countries as soon as possible until Citizens get rid of the problems of dust and dust storms. We made efforts that resulted in the signing of 5 operational memoranda of understanding, and finally, in July, 11 neighboring dust-affected countries gathered in the form of a regional meeting in Iran.
He continued: The President of the Republic was present at the opening ceremony of this meeting, and there a proposal was raised to establish a regional environmental organization and to form a regional environmental fund, which was approved by those present at the meeting. In fact, we did not stop at these meetings because citizens want to see the results of these meetings. Accordingly, experts will be exchanged between Iran, Iraq and Syria in early October to start field work.
Seljuk said of the Glasgow meeting: The meeting focused on the topic of climate change and reducing greenhouse gases, as zero carbon was emphasized. Accordingly, Germany suggested that the use of coal should be stopped completely, although some countries such as China, opposed this, and we also have many mines God-given in our country that we can use properly, of course, Germany insisted not to use Coal, but now we see that because of the emergency, the Germans are now forced to use coal even to heat their homes.
He said: In this meeting, I raised the issue of economic terrorism and said that you surrounded us and even imposed sanctions on us in the issue of the environment, which is an integrated and universal argument, and this matter has many environmental consequences. In general, we raised our issues, and we took good steps in the field of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, although there were no commitments, but in the first step, we were supposed to reduce 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, but with the measures taken, we are ahead On this much figure.
