    On Monday, the Federal Integrity Commission revealed its investigation and inspection procedures against the former governor of Basra on charges of wasting public money, while confirming that the fugitive accused was forced to surrender to the Commission’s Investigation Directorate in the province, and he was arrested pending investigation.
    The Commission’s Investigation Department said in a statement, “The procedures of the Commission’s Basra Investigation Directorate in investigation and inspection, to implement the arrest warrant issued against the former governor of Basra, and the repeated raids on the house of the fugitive suspect, led to the latter’s surrendering himself to the Directorate, on the grounds of wasting public money resulting from an exemption.” A foreign company from taxes and customs duties.
    And she continued, "The Basra investigation judge specialized in examining integrity cases, and after reviewing the statements of the legal representative of the Basra governorate, the administrative investigation, and the investigative papers of the Commission's Investigation Directorate in the governorate, decided to arrest the accused pending investigation in the case."
    She added, "The arrest warrant issued based on the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code, came as a result of the charge of wasting public money amounting to (23,000,000,000) billion dinars," indicating, "The waste is a result of exempting the Indian company (Bamboosh) from taxes and fees." Al-Kamriyah for a project to prepare a study and modify designs prepared for the implementation of rainwater and heavy water sewage networks and stations, with the establishment of a heavy water treatment project for the Abu al-Khasib district.
