The Iraqi Finance monitors "false" information regarding the volume of expenditures and revenues in the 2023 budget

Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Finance announced, on Saturday, that it has monitored "false" information regarding the volume of expenditures and revenues in the general budget for the year 2023.
The ministry's media office said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, "The Ministry of Finance has monitored many false and incorrect information circulating on social media platforms regarding the volume of expected expenditures and revenues within the draft general budget law for the year 2023."
And the Ministry of Finance emphasized that "this information is nothing more than a set of proposals received by ministries and unrelated entities, and is not the final form of the content of the budget law."
And she added, "The draft budget law is still in the process of preparation, and discussions in this regard are continuing with the various official authorities concerned with ripening the budget law after it included the government curriculum approved by the House of Representatives, and work is underway to prepare the final draft of the project and then submit it to the Council of Ministers for consideration." and adopting recommendations according to the current economic conditions of the country.
The ministry called on public opinion, specialists and all media professionals to "receive information and news from its well-known official sources, through the ministry's website and its approved official pages."
And the deputy in the Iraqi Parliament, Mustafa Sanad, published figures that he said were extracted from the draft budget for the year 2023, in which he stated that the planned deficit rate amounts to 121 trillion Iraqi dinars, and the figure mentioned in the planned deficit in the 2019 budget that was approved exceeds the amount of 133.1 trillion dinars (about 112 billion dollars), with a fiscal deficit of $19 billion.
