Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani decided, on Wednesday, to deprive farmers who do not adhere to modern agricultural and irrigation methods during the next agricultural season.
This decision was issued during a visit that Al-Sudani made this morning to the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, and he held a meeting with its officials, according to a statement issued by his media office.

The statement stated that Al-Sudani followed up during the visit the progress of implementing the agricultural plan, and the availability of requirements for its implementation. Where he emphasized the vital place of the agricultural file in the government program, which was developed to be an application plan that can be implemented on the ground, stressing that the work in the ministry must be according to a clear integrated plan.
He said, in an interview with him during this visit, that our visit today to the Ministry of Agriculture comes to confirm the government's approach in its executive program, due to the importance of this sector in reforming the economic reality in Iraq.
Al-Sudani added that it is important to diagnose the ministry's work paths, defined in accordance with the law, the indicative, research and service paths, and the level of their implementation.
"We indicated that there is weakness in coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and other ministries, as there must be integration between industry and agriculture," he said.
The Prime Minister stressed the implementation of the agricultural plan approved by the Council of Ministers for the winter season 2022/2023 on the entire area due to its importance in the field of food security.
He also pointed out that the next agricultural season will not have any support for any farmer who does not use modern farming techniques and modern sprinkler irrigation methods, and this is part of the agricultural sector reform policy.
Al-Suadani added that the government has put in the draft budget law 2023 financial allocations for farmers' dues for the winter season 2022/2023, and they will be disbursed within a period not exceeding two weeks.
He referred to the formation of bilateral committees with state real estate to overcome obstacles facing investors and with Al-Kindi Company for the production of vaccines, in order to secure the requirements of livestock projects.
Al-Sudani stressed that there should be interest in the investor and agricultural investment, and care for serious investors and guide them according to the ministry's goals.
He stressed that "we are working to complete the modern villages project, attract full-time graduates of agricultural and veterinary faculties, agricultural institutes and preparatory schools, and open up to other disciplines due to its importance in creating job opportunities."
The Prime Minister went on to say that while we are working to protect the product, we are working to protect the consumer as well, and it is important to control imports away from corruption, and to provide what the citizen needs of livestock products.
Al-Sudani continued, saying: We are working on evaluating the ministry's work and holding those who are negligent or reluctant to perform their duties accountable, and we will not allow any political party to interfere in the ministry's work, noting that agriculture is an important, sustainable and qualified sector that creates real development.
