    On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee discussed with the Ministry of Oil and the Basra Oil Company the rehabilitation of crude export pipelines to foreign countries, while it decided to oblige the Ministry of Finance to operate the Khor Al-Amaya port to avoid the loss of two million barrels of oil per day.
    Committee Chairman Haibat Al-Halbousi said in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News that the committee held a meeting today in which it hosted: the Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs, the Director-General of the Basra Oil Company, the Director-General of the Economic Department, the Director-General of the Studies and Planning Department, in addition to the Assistant Director-General. Basra Oil, to discuss the issue of rehabilitating crude oil export pipelines in Basra Governorate, and rehabilitating the Al-Faw warehouse to maintain the amount of exports, given that the crude oil export pipelines are very old, given that the pipelines are 50 years old and need rehabilitation in addition to the marine pipelines that were built in the year. 2011.
    He added, "We obtained the approval of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani on the financial allocation for the rehabilitation of the pipelines," noting that "the financial allocation was included in the budget law as part of the Japanese loan, but the Ministry of Finance did not spend those allocations, especially the financial allocations for the third marine pipeline, which will raise... of daily oil exports.
    Al-Halbousi continued, saying that the committee decided to oblige the Ministry of Finance to spend financial allocations to rehabilitate the pipelines and operate the Khor Al-Amaya port, which will increase production to 500 thousand barrels, to avoid the risk of damage to the pipelines, which will cause a loss of two million barrels per day of Iraqi oil production.
