Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, canceled their meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian.
Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, who were in Davos, decided to cancel their meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian, following Iranian missile strikes on Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
In this context, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, in Davos, and they discussed the resumption of oil exports and the continued disbursement of funds by the Iraqi federal government to the Kurdistan Region.
Sullivan condemned the Iranian ballistic missile attack on Erbil. He also expressed appreciation for the Kurdistan Region's influential partnership with the United States, stressing America's support for it.
It is noteworthy that last Monday night, Iran bombed Erbil with ballistic missiles, which caused the death of two merchants and a girl, in addition to causing injuries.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the submission of an official complaint against Iran to the United Nations Security Council, against the backdrop of the massive missile attack launched by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, on Monday night, on the city of Erbil.
A statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry stated that Iraq submitted a complaint to the UN Security Council and the United Nations, on Tuesday, 1/16/2024, related to the Iranian missile aggression that targeted the city of Erbil and led to innocent civilian casualties, the injury of others, and damage to public and private property. .
