The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, revealed the time required to conduct the general census of the population for each family.
Al-Hindawi said, “There is no government plan to open contracts as an employee to conduct the population census.”
The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning added that "the ministry's staff is sufficient to conduct the population census."
He pointed out that "the general census for each family will take 50 minutes and the questions will be electronic."
Earlier, Baghdad Governor Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi announced the formation of a special operations room to conduct the population census in the capital.
Al-Alawi said in a speech during his chairmanship of the first meeting on the population census, with the participation of the directors of education and health, university presidents, representatives of planning departments, security agencies, and several other parties, that “the general population census conducted in 1977 was comprehensive, as preparations for it took more than a year, and the census was comprehensive,” indicating that “the Ministry of Planning sets plans for all aspects of life related to Iraqi society.”
“If we go back to the 1977 census, we will find detailed data, as the process of converting data into information takes a long time at that time,” he added, noting that “Iraq is about to conduct a census, as a higher committee and an operations room have been formed to complete all the requirements and steps paving the way for conducting the census.” He stressed that “the operations room consists of representatives of several parties and special departments concerned with conducting the census,” noting that “the mission of the operations room is to implement the instructions of the higher committee in the governorate.”
