The European Commission has announced to increase its humanitarian assistance to address the crisis in Iraq to provide 25 million euros, bringing the total aid to 159 million during 2016.
Said European Commissioner for humanitarian aid Christos Styliandez during an informal meeting of donors on the humanitarian response to the Iraqi crisis that the provision of European aid going on in full swing to support Iraqis who are suffering during this difficult time, noting that European humanitarian aid, according to the situation of civilians will be presented either in conflict zones or displaced.
He said in this regard that the humanitarian crisis in Iraq and one of the largest and most complex crises in the world as it now needs more than ten million Iraqi humanitarian aid, including 3.3 million civilians displaced inside the country, in addition to the 13 million Iraqis are expected to become the need of those end aid this year.
