Minister of Trade arrives in Amman to attend meetings of Arab Economic and Social Council

The meetings of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the level of ministers of trade and economy were started in the Jordanian capital Amman to prepare recommendations to the Arab Leaders Conference which will be held this week at the Dead Sea.
Iraq participates in the meetings of the Economic and Social Council with a government delegation headed by Dr. Salman Jumaili, Minister of Trade and representatives of a number of ministries.
Al-Jumaili said in a press statement in Amman that "Iraq participates in the Amman conference with a high-level government delegation and hopes to take a serious stand out from its Arab brothers, especially as it is engaged in a fierce war with terrorism. It is in the stages of announcing the last victory after the liberation of the city of Mosul, "He said.
Jumaili pointed out that the Arab Economic and Social Council will discuss the developments of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the developments of the Arab Customs Union, especially the issues related to the detailed rules of origin, in addition to what has been pursued in the fields of investment, scientific and technological research, food security and other important projects.
"The issue of terrorism is not absent from the table of the meeting where the issue of terrorism is discussed as one of the challenges that affect social development through the Arab declaration to support the joint Arab action to eradicate terrorism issued by the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers," he said.
The conference will also discuss the knowledge economy in the Arab countries and, at the request of Jordan, discuss "the mechanisms and challenges facing the host countries of refugees and displaced persons, which have been discussed as one of the important issues of concern to the Arab countries."
The draft agenda and draft resolutions were submitted by senior officials to the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level preparatory to the summit level of the Council of the League of Arab States at its twenty-eighth ordinary session
