    Thi Qar/ Iraq TradeLink: The news that the expected announcement for granting Thi Qar refinery to investment companies increased internal and local hopes to develop the oil industry in the province.

    The province is regarded as one of the promising areas in oil industries due to its great oil and gas reserves.

    The Iraqi oil ministry is planning to finalize the infrastructures for the oil projects including the pipelines and increasing storage capacities.

    On the other side, the ministry called international companies to invest in Nassiriya refinery, which procedures are expected to end by the second half of this year.

    The oil reserves in the province is expected to reach more than 20 billion barrels divided on several oilfield.


    The production of al-Gharaf and Nassiriya oilfields is expected to reach 200.000 b/d, as local sources reported.
