    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Pretoria, Mr. Hesham AL-Aluy met the Head of the Development and economic Committee in the South African parliament Mrs. Elsie Mmathulare Coleman and members of the committee at Parliament in Cape Town.

    A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by IraqiNews.com cited “During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in the economic and different fields. The Ambassador gave an explanation on political and economic environment in Iraq and the similarities with South Africa in terms of the government’s priorities in supporting this sector, pointing out that Iraq has the largest growing economies and managed over the past years reduction of poverty rates.”
    “The Ambassador referred to the upcoming visit of a delegation from the Ministry of trade and Industry in South Africa to Iraq in the near future and its importance to discuss South African companies’ participating in the Baghdad international Fair,” the statement added.
    “For her part, Mrs. Coleman and members of the parliamentary committee expressed their pleased and desire to communicate with the Embassy to strengthen relations with Iraq and to increase the rate of trade exchange,” the statement concluded.
