Israeli occupation forces steal important documents from al-Aqsa Mosque

    31/07/2017

The Israeli occupation forces have stolen important documents from the Al-Aqsa Mosque concerning the properties and endowments of occupied Jerusalem and its lands during the period of closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The head of the Jerusalem International Center, Hassan Khater, said that the Israeli forces seized the documents related to the Islamic Waqf in occupied Jerusalem, when it was isolated for the maximum of three consecutive days, moving between its rooms, offices, archives and documents, after evacuating the worshipers,.
The Israeli authorities, by means of those documents, would lay their hands on the Jerusalem heights, their properties and their properties, as a permanent archive of property and the Islamic courts, which would constitute a database of the properties, endowments and occupied territories of Jerusalem.
He stressed that the theft of a real disaster, explaining that the Waqf documents belong to the details and secrets of endowments and signatures on them, indicating that the seizure can enable Tel Aviv to obtain signatures, and know the owners of the authority, and how to transfer or ways to dispose of the ownership of the Waqf, and see all the details and contents.
He said that this poses a great danger to the endowments that constitute the backbone of Jerusalem, which exceeds 90% of the Old City, and a high percentage in all of Jerusalem.
The head of the Jerusalem International Center in Palestine said that the danger posed by Israelis in forgery, the ability to manipulate documents and destroy the Waqfs, if used.
He pointed out that the Israeli authorities are not concerned with the historic value of these documents, stressing that they are looking for ways to put their hands on the Jerusalem and its properties to confiscate and judaize, which constitutes a serious blow to the remaining lands and endowments in occupied Jerusalem, which constitute the foundations of the battle with the occupation.
He said that the technical committee set up by the Department of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem will limit the amount of missing documents stolen, whether by confiscating or photographing assets.
He called on the Palestinian official to the importance of issuing directives by the religious authorities to declare transparently about the size and seriousness of theft, and the steps that follow.
