Shell" Iran recognizes the results of studies of oil fields shared with Iraq

Shell, a British-Dutch company, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), has handed over the results of the development of oil fields Azadkan and Yadoran with Iraq.

In November, Shell signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran's National Oil Company (NIOC) concerning the Azadkan, Yadoran and Kish gas fields.

The oil fields of Azadkan and Yadkoran are located in the west of the Karun River (southwestern Iran) and are common fields with Iraq.

The company also handed over the results of its study on the Kish gas field, where the company covered the expenses of the study on Iranian fields in full and prepared the studies during a record period of only eight months.

Last December, Oil Minister Bijan Zangana announced a tender for the southern Azadkan field in the coming months, while six international companies announced their willingness to bid.

The field of Azadkan from the north field (Majnoon) Iraqi estimated reserves of 33 billion barrels. It is noteworthy that the field (Yadkoran) oil is located in southwestern Iran, and estimated reserves of 17 billion barrels.
