Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said on Wednesday that he discussed with his Iraqi counterpart efforts to stabilize oil markets, adding that his country will stand with Iraqis to support them in all fields.

"He discussed with Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul-Jabbar al-Allaibi during a meeting between them, efforts to stabilize the oil markets," he said.

He added: "I said to (Allaibi) keenness of the leadership of the Kingdom to stabilize Iraq politically, security and economic and we will stand with our brothers until Iraq returns strong and prosperous."

The Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Tuesday that al-Allaibi left the country heading to Saudi Arabia to discuss the developments in the oil market and efforts of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to stabilize the market.
