An armed group in Zintan has closed two valves in the pipeline to the oil field, the largest Libyan field, to demand more fuel supplies for the Zintan region and improve its economic conditions.
The news agency "Reuters" on Sunday, a source in Zintan in western Libya confirmed the closure of the two valves of the pipeline.
Engineers said that the "spark field", which produces about 280 thousand barrels per day, was closed a week ago and the National Petroleum Corporation announced the status of force majeure in the loading of sparkling ore from the port of Zawia, according to a document of the company.
A spokesman for the Arab Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) said another armed group charged with guarding oil installations closed the pipeline to the Libyan Hamada field, but the field is still in operation and talks are expected on Sunday to reopen the pipeline.
