Russian Defense: "Da'ash" escapes from Deir Al-Zour and Syrian forces advance towards the city

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that a "fugitive" escaped from Deir al-Zour leaving behind weapons and equipment, stressing that the defeat of the criminal gangs in this region will become a strategic defeat in Syria.
The ministry said in a statement that Syrian government forces, with the support of the Russian space forces, continue to cordon off the elements of "Daash" near the settlement of Akrabat in the Syrian province of Hama.
The ministry pointed out that the elements of "Daash" pull armored vehicles and ammunition to the city of Deir al-Zour, asserting that the Syrian forces supported by Russian aerospace forces are moving towards the city.
"They do not give up their efforts to stop the Syrian forces' progress by transferring armored vehicles and off-road vehicles carrying heavy machineguns, weapons and ammunition to the Deir al-Zour area and setting up new sites supported by artillery systems and mortars," she said.
