Russia reveals the fate of its troops in Syria
The head of the Defense Committee of the Russian Federation Council, the former commander of the Russian Air Force, Viktor Bondarev, revealed the reality of the future of Russian troops in Syria.
"The logic of the Russian campaign in Syria is to keep a sufficient number of military personnel to ensure order and the security of the civilian population," Bondarev said.
According to Sputnik, Moscow is considering a reduction of Russian troops in Syria, where some troops will remain from military police, advisers and some forces to protect Russian facilities in Hameimim and Tartous, especially air defense systems, according to the Kommersant newspaper citing military and diplomatic sources. At the same time the Russian Defense Ministry announced that there are no such plans.
