    The United States and Argentina announced on Sunday that they would work closely together to stop Hezbollah's funding networks in Latin America.
     US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said he had discussed the issue during his visit to Buenos Aires, where he had talks with his Argentine counterpart Jorge Fauri.
    "For Hezbollah, today we have discussed in our region-wide discussions how to prosecute transnational criminal organizations engaged in drug trafficking, human trafficking and money laundering, because we believe that they are also linked to terrorist financing organizations," Tillerson said.
    "We specifically discussed the existence of the # God's Party in this half of the globe, and it is clear that it is raising funds to support its terrorist activities, which we agree together on the need to repel and eliminate."
    The Argentine minister, who was standing by Tilerson during their joint press conference, agreed with the US secretary of state and said South America has become a "zone of peace" and foreign groups should not jeopardize it.
    "As Secretary Tilerson said, we must intensify every possible exchange, not only through dialogues, but also through information about the activities of these groups that exploit cross-border crime to take care of their interests, which is certainly not approved by Argentina."
    In 1992, the conflict in the Middle East reached Argentina when the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires was bombed, killing 29 people. Two years later, an attack on a Jewish center in the city killed 85 people.
    None of the masterminds of the bombings or their perpetrators have been convicted, but international investigators have followed a path that appears to link them to Hezbollah - which Washington regards as a terrorist - and also to Iranian officials.
    US experts believe Hezbollah, which operates under Iranian supervision, has built a funding network in Latin America that benefits from drug trafficking to finance its political and military activities.
