The legal expert, Tariq Harb, said Thursday that today is the last day of the House of Representatives, as the life of parliament will end on Saturday, the holiday, that is today, Thursday, the last day of the meetings.

"Today, Thursday, is the last day of the Iraqi parliament," Harb said in a press statement. "Today's parliament will end on Saturday, the day of the holiday. Today, Thursday, is the last day of meetings. On Sunday, the first day after the four-year period because it ends on Saturday, "pointing out that today's session was set for the third reading and vote on the proposed amendment to the Fourth Law, which includes extending the work of Parliament for more than the period prescribed by the Constitution.

He added that that decision will not be published because of the unconstitutionality of the law and its violation of Article 56 of the Constitution. The Constitution may not be amended by law, so long as the constitution specifies a specific period for the parliamentary session. Except to amend the Constitution with the consent of the people to the referendum, stressing that all the excuses and justifications for extension such as vacuum and control of counting and sorting and non-disbursement of privileges have no value before the constitutional provision.
