Mubasher: With the start of a new week in the global markets and the official launch of the season of advertising the results of business companies, attention is focused attention to a political event, which brings together the US President and his Russian counterpart.

China is also releasing economic growth data for the second quarter of this year as Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell testifies before the Senate on the US and global economic situation.

Putin-Trump Summit

US President Donald Trump will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.

The Russian and US sides will discuss bilateral relations and national security issues.

A few days before the summit, the United States accused Russia of interfering in the US presidential election in 2016.

The US Justice Department said all the defendants were members of a Russian federal intelligence agency and made attempts to penetrate the emails of Democrats.

China's economic growth

China's economic growth data for the second quarter of this year will be released on Monday.

Economic growth in the world's second-largest economy is forecast to slow by 6.7%.

China's gross domestic product rose 6.8 percent in the three months ending in March.

Beijing has trade problems with the United States because of tariffs, and despite talks held between the two countries each period, so far they have not reached a solution to the crisis.

Inflation data

The United Kingdom and the eurozone announced inflation data for the month of June on Wednesday.

It is estimated that inflation in Britain rose to 2.6% last month.

In May, inflation in Europe's second-largest economy hit 2.4%, steady at the April level.

The rate of inflation accelerates expectations that the Bank of England will move to tighten monetary policy after raising the interest rate for the first time since the global crisis last November.

In the eurozone, the final data for inflation are due for June, after initial data showed consumer price inflation to the ECB target.

Preliminary data showed accelerated inflation in the eurozone at 2% in June on an annualized basis, from 1.9% in May.

Certificate of "Powell"

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is presenting his semi-annual testimony on economics and monetary policy to the Senate Committee on Tuesday.

Powell is scheduled to answer questions about the impact of Trump's escalating trade war on relations with key trading partners on the economy.

Since his administration took office in February, Jerome Powell's Fed has raised interest rates twice.

The US central bank estimates that interest rates will be raised four times this year.

European-Chinese summit

BEIJING (Reuters) - European and Chinese political and economic leaders will meet on Monday in Beijing to coincide with the fears of a trade war dominating the leaders of major economies. China looks to overcome European concerns and build an alliance against Washington.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will host the European delegation led by European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

Last week, the US administration announced that it was considering $ 200 billion worth of products it imported from China in preparation for additional tariffs.

Business results

Companies and banks continue to disclose business results for the second quarter of this year, which began last week.

Johnson & Johnson, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Microsoft and Morgan Stanley announce their financial performance throughout the week.

Last week, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan and Citigroup announced financial performance data for the three months ended June.
