Maliki to Amir Kuwait: The next phase requires mechanisms to activate the regional and international effortVice President Nuri al-Maliki said during a meeting with Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the need to find mechanisms to activate the regional and international efforts to meet the challenges in the region.
A statement from his office that "Vice President Nuri al-Maliki and the accompanying delegation met today the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah."
He added that "the two sides discussed bilateral relations in various fields and ways to strengthen them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the region and the efforts made towards them."
"The next stage requires the creation of mechanisms to activate the regional and international efforts more to meet the challenges, praising Kuwait's support for Iraq," Maliki said.
The statement quoted Sabah as stressing "his country's position alongside Iraq," praising Mr. Maliki's positions in developing relations between the two countries. "
