US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo attacked his Democratic predecessor John Kerry on his dealings with Iran's nuclear deal, accusing him of failing to deal with the Iranian file.
"What Kerry did with the Iranian regime, the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, is inappropriate and unprecedented and runs counter to US diplomacy," Pompio wrote. Let it be. "
"The joint comprehensive plan of action did not stop Iran's development of nuclear weapons, contrary to what has been promoted to the American people," he said in the second tweet.
Mr Pompeo has already criticized his predecessor John Kerry's meetings with Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, accusing him of "working to undermine current US policy on Iran."
"What Kerry has done is contrary to US policy and undermines its efforts on Iran," he told a news conference on Friday.
"John Kerry held illegal meetings with the Iranian regime, which can only undermine our great work at the expense of the American people," US President Donald Trump said in a tweet at his Twitter account.
A Kerry spokesman responded to the accusations, telling The Hill that Kerry remained in touch with his former counterparts around the world, like any former foreign minister.
"Kerry made a long telephone conversation with Pompeo earlier this year, explaining many details about what he learned from the Iranian authorities ... he did not want to keep the secrets of his administration."
