BAGHDAD - The
head of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halbusi, on Tuesday, that Iraq seeks to involve the countries of the world to invest its natural resources.
"Iraq is seeking in its legislations and legal systems to involve its neighbors and the world as a whole in investing its diverse natural resources and directly contributing to all sectors," Halaboussi said in a statement to his office during a speech at the third meeting of heads of parliaments in Turkey. .
He added that "as is known, Iraq has all the elements of the comprehensive economic renaissance, supported by enormous resources can be invested in the service of the interests and aspirations of Iraqis in the development and progress in various walks of life."
"Iraq has long suffered from the effects of war and its negative consequences on the environment, which played a key role in the pollution of its water resources, agricultural land and fisheries, which contributed to the settlement of serious diseases suffered by the Iraqi people."
He called on the countries participating in the conference to "help Iraq to get rid of the effects of environmental pollution, which reached serious levels that require significant support at the level of governments and relevant international organizations."
He pointed to "the importance of sustainable development in renewable energy sources," stressing that "it is at the heart of the executive and legislative concerns through a series of measures to reduce the pollution causing serious global warming."
As for the war against terrorism, Halaboussi explained that "Iraq fought a war against terrorism, in which it paid the blood of the finest of its youth on behalf of the world as a result of massive destruction of cities and people alike."
"We hope to see a world and people who understand the magnitude of these sacrifices, and resolve to provide support and active participation in standing with Iraq through continued cooperation on the basis of economic and investment partnership and environmental cooperation to serve the interests of all peoples."
