The new parliamentary governor of Baghdad, Falah al-Jazairi, is being subjected to extortion and threats by political parties, the bloc of the State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki said on Thursday, calling on the three presidencies to intervene in this regard.

The bloc said in a statement today that it was surprised by what it called "the systematic campaign being launched against the Algerian by political parties that know well the legitimacy of the Algerian who approved the Supreme Judicial Council legitimacy through his legal oath at the Court of Appeal of Baghdad Al-Karkh Federation on 2019/1/7 under the book No. 19/4, being the legitimate governor of Baghdad after elections characterized by legitimacy and legal and the completion of all procedures followed in the election of governors.

The statement said that "the former governor submitted his resignation to the provincial council and the vote to accept the resignation in the presence of the President of the provincial council and his deputy during the meeting."

The former governor Atwan al-Atwani had led in the session of the House of Representatives held on Tuesday the constitutional Yemen as a member of parliament.

The statement called on "the three authorities to consider national responsibility in support of the rule of law and stop the extortion and threats and illegal interventions issued by some political parties that try to create chaos and overcome the law and the Constitution and obstruct the work of the province and disabling the performance of its duty to the people of Baghdad."

Anam Khuzai, a member of the House of Representatives for the block, "Saroon" backed by the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr has demanded the Rafidain Bank not to adopt the signature of a member of the provincial council of Baghdad (Falah al-Jazairi) or his representative in the financial transactions because he was not issued a presidential decree or order As governor of Baghdad.

It should be noted that the Court of Appeal of Karkh issued a formal book by the performance of Engineer Falah al-Jazairi, the constitutional oath after the expiry of the legal period.

Local sources were talking about the governor of Baghdad, defeating the election of Fadhil al-Shuwaili, belonging to the Sadrist movement to seize the office of the governor Falah al-Jazairi by force.

The Iraqi presidency announced at a time that it would not confiscate the Algerian direct governor of Baghdad until the continuation of the issue of his election with a judicial body.

Algeria was elected at the end of last year as governor of Baghdad in the absence of political blocs backed by Moqtada al-Sadr and Ammar al-Hakim. Which some called the coup.

The Algerian election came a week after Fadhil al-Shweili, a member of the Liberal Bloc of Muqtada al-Sadr as governor of Baghdad, and Mohammed al-Rubaie as his deputy, sought to deepen the dispute between the reform and reconstruction coalition, which included the Sadr Alliance, backed by Moqtada al-Sadr and the victory coalition led by former prime minister Haider al- Ammar al-Hakim and part of the "national axis" and "coalition of construction," which included the alliance of the conquest led by Hadi al-Ameri and the coalition of the rule of law led by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and another part of the national axis. "

The Algerian is close to the pro-Iranian Hezbollah battalions.

The conflict over the post of governor of Baghdad dates from a coalition of state law led by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and alliances backed by Sadr's leader Moqtada al-Sadr to 2015, when he dismissed the coalition of conservative law Ali al-Tamimi, supported by Moqtada al-Sadr after questioning.
