MP Abbas al-Aliawi said on Saturday that there were agreements to hold focused meetings in the coming days to draft a consensus resolution to remove US troops from Iraq, noting that most political forces supported the withdrawal of the US military.
"The next few days will witness meetings between leaders of political alliances in order to understand the wording of a resolution to remove US forces from Iraq," Aliawi said in a statement.
He added that "all political blocs are determined to pass the resolution in the House of Representatives and the end of the American presence that violated the sovereignty of the country," noting that "the rapprochement between the allies of Fatah and others on resolving the previous differences contribute to crystallize a clearer position towards the American presence."
