A few days after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's visit to Iran, his results began to appear in succession.
As expected, it turned out that the economic aspect of energy was among the most important goals of Assad's trip to Tehran.
In this regard, Syrian economic sources revealed that Assad received from Tehran assurances that Iran would continue to supply the regime with gas and burners (diesel and gasoline) in order to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis that is afflicting the regime, which is completely unable to purchase fuel from other sources.
According to the site "Arab21", the Qatari visit was discussed in alternative ways to transfer Iranian fuel to the system, after the transfer of fuel by sea to Damascus, because of the United States objection to the ships heading to Syrian ports. Sources said that it is expected to be supplied to the Syrian regime By land, through Iraqi territory, after the danger of state organization from the Syrian east has disappeared.
In this context, the economic researcher Adham Qadimati, said that Syria's production of oil before 2011 was about 380 thousand barrels of oil per day, and after the outbreak of the Syrian revolution and the exit of most oil wells from the hands of the regime after the seizure of the state organization and then the Kurdish units, Below 23 thousand barrels per day, and this figure covers 10% of the need of the local Syrian market.
In his speech to "Arab 21", he explained that the system was adopted to meet the shortage of fuel on imports from Iran with two tankers arriving monthly to Syria, and carrying about two million barrels to be refined in Syrian territory.
However, Assad's satisfaction with this matter did not last long, according to Qimayati, who confirmed that two years ago, Iran stopped its oil credit line to Assad because of disagreements in agreements between the two sides and then resumed it for a short time before the United States imposed a package of sanctions Economic development.
Therefore, Qimayati believes that "Assad's recent visit to Iran was not only to discuss the oil sector, but to arrange the documents and agreements with Iran again and to make efforts to appease them, especially after Russia took control and concluded agreements with the regime on the internal resources such as phosphates, oil and gas. Crumbs of such wealth as the agricultural sector. "
According to the researcher, the above angered Iran, to the extent called for in the Iranian newspapers to describe Assad as ungrateful, because Iran supported Assad with all that it owns, while it was provided only crumbs.
