    DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Head of the Coalition for Reform and Reconstruction Ammar al-Hakim discussed with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Andrew Beck and US Charge d'affaires the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington and the latest developments in the political situation in the US bases in Iraq. 
    "We stressed the importance of activating the strategic cooperation agreement between Iraq and the United States in its cultural, economic and educational aspects as well as the security aspects. We also reaffirmed our commitment to the vision of the Iraqi government in determining the need for the presence of foreign forces and bases on Iraqi soil," the statement said. . 
    He called the wise to "adopt dialogue to resolve all disputes between countries in the region to achieve stability in the Middle East."
