Parliamentary integrity criticizes a move by Abdul Mahdi similar to "the time of Maliki": straining the state budget

[rtl]Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi has been criticized for his insistence on reinstating posts, some of which were abolished in the time of his predecessor Haider al-Abadi, because they weighed heavily on the state budget.[/rtl]
[rtl]The prime minister has been in conflict with the legislature for appointing public inspectors, which parliament rejects as a violation of the constitution.[/rtl]
[rtl]Last month, Abdul Mahdi appointed Hanan al-Fatlawi, a former lawmaker (close to the head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki) as his women's adviser, and then appointed Badr leader Ziad al-Tamimi, accused of abuses in Diyala province, east of Baghdad, as inspector general. The Ministry of Defense, in addition to issuing orders to appoint dozens of officials, managers and inspectors general in Iraqi ministries and institutions.[/rtl]
[rtl]In August 2015, Abadi issued an order to abolish the positions of advisers in the ministries, as well as widely reduced the number of advisers in the three presidencies, as well as the abolition of important positions as deputy prime ministers and vice presidents, and the merger of some ministries in order to reduce the volume of expenses.[/rtl]
[rtl]A member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, who asked not to be named, told the new Arab that there was dissatisfaction with Abdul Mahdi's insistence on reinstating posts abolished during Abadi's time as advisers and staff in his office, explaining that "granting positions for courtesies is a burden on the state budget."[/rtl]
[rtl]The spokesman himself expressed surprise at the silence of the government "towards what is going on deals during which the appointment of ambassadors and representatives of Iraq abroad in order to satisfy this party or that," stressing that "the first year of the government saw a rapid return to the time of the positions that were granted at the time of Maliki Based on loyalty. [rtl]He pointed out that this file will be opened during the next legislative term, "because the prime minister is not alone authorized to grant positions, and there is a legislative authority represented by the parliament tasked with overseeing the performance of the government and its ministers and positions."[/rtl]
[rtl]In March, Abdul Mahdi formed the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption and included a number of close associates, in a move that angered lawmakers and politicians, such as former Minister of Labor Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani, who said that "the Council is busy with small issues and did not address the big corruption issues."[/rtl]
