    MP Bassem Khashan on Monday accused parliament speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi of liquidating his political opponents by exploiting the ongoing demonstrations, pointing to multiple financial irregularities during his term in office.
    Khashan told Al-Maaloumeh that “Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbousi took advantage of the current circumstances and started liquidating his political opponents through integrity and the judiciary. Large and clear related to the disbursement of the salaries of deputies whose membership has exceeded half a billion dinars in addition to 600 million dinars expended from the previous session.
    Khashan explained that “the employees of the House of Representatives are paid more than their peers in the Council of Ministers and other departments of the state contrary to the decision of the Federal Court No. 140 and the salaries are determined according to the decision 141 of 2018, and with the approval of the Speaker.”
    He pointed out that "Halbousi agreed to pay the salaries of members of the National Assembly and members of the first and second session, despite the recommendation of the Office of Financial Supervision to stop the disbursement of funds and demanded to return the money spent contrary to the law."
    He called, "the Supreme Judicial Council to apply the law without discrimination and to speed up the resolution of cases submitted to the court and the prosecution." Finished 15 x
