leader of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, described on Monday what happened after the attack on the demonstrators in Al-Haboubi Square as a "new setback" in dealing with the file of demonstrations.
Al-Hakim said in a statement, which received / Mawazine News / a copy of it, that "what happened in Al-Haboubi Square in the center of Nasiriyah in Dhi Qar, attacking demonstrators, exposing them to live bullets and burning their sit-in tents, represents a new setback in the required practical dealing with the file of demonstrations."
He added: "We strongly condemn this crime and call on the government and parliament to expedite the formation of an investigative committee and to reveal the bodies behind the incident and bring them to justice, and we reaffirm that protecting protesters from the government's duty to call on protesters to maintain the peacefulness of their protests and to avoid exposure to public and private property and cooperate with the apparatus Security in order to sort the infiltrators seeking to divert the peaceful path of the demanding demonstrations.
