The Supreme Authority of the Wisdom Movement, led by Ammar al-Hakim, considered that the budget included “explosive numbers and mines that opened the appetite of political forces and bidders,” at a time when it revealed that “putting weapons in the budget is a clear innovation that isolated the Iraqi political scene.”
The head of the commission, Hamid Mualla, said in a statement to the Dijla satellite channel, followed by IQ NEWS , that "putting weapons in the balance is a clear innovation unique to the political scene in Iraq," as he put it .
He added, "The budget is the most important law that constitutes a road map for the government to meet the plans and aspirations of the Iraqi people, unfortunately it has turned into an electoral article and political quarrels."
He pointed out that "the budget included explosive numbers and mines that opened the appetite of the political forces and the bidders, and everyone who had a danger in his head began to put forward an idea to exploit these figures and sums of money."
Parliament had postponed the voting session on the federal financial budget for 2021, which was scheduled, on Sunday, until further notice, due to several disagreements, most notably related to the exchange rate of the dollar and the share of the Kurdistan region.
