    [size=18]Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim said on Saturday that Iraq's security is based on the security of the region during his attendance at the Non-Aligned Movement Conference.

    The Foreign Ministry said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, a copy of it, "Hakim delivered a speech on behalf of the President of the Republic of the Republic of the Non-Aligned Movement in the 18th session."

    In his speech, al-Hakim called on member states to "unite efforts in confronting the crises facing the region through good management of disputes, and the adoption of the principle of dialogue in finding sustainable solutions," pointing out that "our countries today need stability based on respect for sovereignty, and non-interference in internal affairs , And renounce violence and extremism. "

    He added: "I assure you that we still have great challenges in the midst of the crisis situation, the successive developments in a regional and international environment, which is full of turmoil and dangers, and the regional interaction and crises in our region that may warn of war if we do not improve our management. ".

    Al-Hakim pointed to the "vision of Iraq and the principles on which it is based in determining its political positions," stressing that "its foreign policy is based on firm constitutional principles keen to establish solid relations between all countries based on mutual respect, non-interference in internal affairs, and refuse to intervene. "In Iraq, strengthening cooperation and strengthening stability with our regional and international environment."

    He added that "the elimination of ISIS requires that international efforts join forces in support of countries facing this threat," stressing that "the establishment of stability in Iraq requires the cooperation and support of brothers, neighbors and friends, and stand by us, and intensify cooperation between the member states of the movement."

    Al-Hakim said that "the security of Iraq is the basis of the security of the region, and we believe that any collision in the Middle East would put Iraq's security at risk;

    He called for "the importance of adhering to the principles on which the Non-Aligned Movement was founded, which represented an important system of work that guides the positions of the member states."

    He stressed "Iraq's support for the presidency of the movement in its aspirations for the next stage, and the importance of discussing ways to strengthen its work through the unification of visions, and consensus in decisions."

    Al-Hakim expressed "Iraq's firm stances towards what some countries in the region are suffering from, and our occupied Palestine." And Jerusalem as its capital. "

    He pointed to "Iraq's position on the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan," noting that "the Golan is Syrian Arab land, and we reject the Israeli occupation of it, and the need to abide by Security Council resolution (497) of 1981, which calls for the complete withdrawal of the occupation from the Golan."

    For his part, al-Hakim affirmed Iraq's keenness to end the suffering of the Syrian people and enable them to achieve a political solution based on confronting terrorism, calling for resolving the Yemen crisis and supporting efforts to end the suffering of the Yemeni people to achieve security, stability and prosperity.

    “The maintenance of regional and international security starts with the adoption of peace in Iraq, the solidarity of the Movement's countries in the face of terrorism and extremism, respect for the sovereignty of States, non-interference in internal affairs and the strengthening of friendship,” he said.
