, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, confirmed on Saturday that the Arab League is under the authority of Iraq in any request.
Aboul Gheit said in a press conference held in Baghdad with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, that "my visit to Iraq now was expedited before the month of Ramadan, because the situation calmed down somewhat in the holy month."
He added, "Iraq is a founding country of the Arab League, and it has a close relationship with it, and it supports the university, and I would like to bring you good news, that within less than 3 months, we hope to host the Iraqi leadership to see the wing of the university’s headquarters, which Iraq has contributed to years ago."
He continued, "We hope that this visit will support the relations and viewpoints between the Arab League and Iraq," explaining that "the university is going through difficulties, some of which are related to financing its work."
The Secretary-General of the Arab League stated: "We promise the Minister of Foreign Affairs that we will be under the authority of Iraq in any request you request from the Arab League." Ended 29 / A 43
