    Today, Sunday, head of the Union of Peasant Associations, Haider Al-Abadi, revealed an attack he described as "fierce", to fight the agricultural sector, while pointing to achieving "permanent and progressive" sufficiency, with 23 crops.
    Al-Abadi said, in an exclusive interview with the National News Center, that “the damage to the agricultural sector today is great, and there is a fierce attack by questioning the capabilities of the local product to undermine consumer confidence, and this harms the local product,” indicating that “the goal is for Iraq to remain a consumer market for countries. Neighborhood ”.
    He added, "We have made it very clear that moving from the autumn cycle to the spring loop causes the prices of some products to rise and causes scarcity in them at times, and the import may be compensated for several days."
    He continued, "The advancement of agricultural reality requires attention to marketing management, and control of border crossings."
    He continued: “We have proven that the Iraqi product is able to provide the food basket for the Iraqi citizen, especially in light of the Corona pandemic,” noting the achievement of “self-sufficiency with 23 items, including three from animal wealth, and the other agricultural, and some of them are permanent sufficiency and another part is phased sufficiency.”
    It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi allowed the import of 3 agricultural crops, namely cucumbers, tomatoes and eggplant, in conjunction with the approaching month of Ramadan.
