Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi issued new decisions regarding the electricity crisis, by presiding over an emergency meeting that included governors, and attended by ministers and officials, members of the crisis cell specialized in dealing with electrical energy conditions.
The meeting came out, according to a statement by the Prime Minister, with a number of decisions, the most important of which are:
1- The governorates’ coordinating body recalculated the governorates’ shares of the electric energy produced, according to a standard based on: (the governorate’s population census – air temperatures – relative humidity – industrial, commercial, governmental and tourist activity – environmental impact), and in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers .
2- The governorates’ commitment to the quotas that are set for each
3- Police leaders and governors should protect electrical installations and their workers, and allocate special detachments for that.
4- The Ministry of Oil provides the necessary support for fuel to the owners of private generators and for the three months (July - August - September).
5- Increasing the share of private generators to be 40 liters of fuel per (1 KVA) during the summer period.
6- Urging citizens to rationalize consumption, through government media and civil society organizations.
7- The Joint Operations Command shall take over the protection of the electric power transmission towers and allocate a special force for these tasks.
