Today, Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, confirmed the allocation of large amounts of money to finance loan grants, while specifying the time period for their repayment.
Al-Kazemi said, according to a statement by his media office, received by the “National News Center”, that “our visit to the Housing Fund Bank today comes as a continuation of the initiatives we have started related to the distribution of residential land to citizens, and the granting of soft loans to them; for the purpose of building it,” directed “by facilitating procedures and bypassing red tape and bureaucracy in promoting citizens’ transactions.”
He explained, "We have allocated large sums of money to finance the granting of loans to citizens, with interests up to zero, and on concessional terms."
He added, "The Central Bank, under the guidance of the government, worked to increase the allocations for the housing sector in order to include the largest number of beneficiaries," noting that "the loan repayment period will reach (20) years, and thus the repayment installments will not constitute a burden on the Iraqi citizen."
And Al-Kazemi indicated that "our goal is to provide housing for all citizens, whether through the distribution of plots of land, or initiatives to grant interest-free loans to applicants for investment complexes," noting that "there is no alternative to the national project to solve the housing crisis in the country."
