The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee confirmed today, Tuesday, that the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership will witness success in bringing the views of neighboring countries closer, while indicating that it will reflect positively on the economy and security of Iraq.
Committee member Amer Al-Fayez said that “Iraq plays the role of mediator in bringing different countries’ views closer together,” noting that “Iraq succeeded in bringing Saudi Arabia and Iran closer together, and contacts are still ongoing between the two parties, and perhaps the Baghdad summit initiative will witness great success.”
He explained that "the success of the Baghdad summit will benefit Iraq and the region, economically and politically."
He added that "improving relations between the antagonistic countries will reflect positively on the politics, security and economy of Iraq," noting that "political stability is the basis of economic and social stability, and in this case it is profit for all."
